Complimentary Memberships
How to setup and issue complimentary memberships
We recommend setting up your complimentary membership as a separate membership, rather than as a membership type within your existing membership. This will make it easier when you want to send separate messages to your comp and paid members. This will also help with reporting, as you will be able to see straight away how many comp memberships you have issued vs how many paid memberships.
How to Set Up a Complimentary Membership
1. Setup a new membership
If you need help setting up a membership, refer to our help guide on how to setup a membership
**Note: You should select hide membership from public in the configuration
2. When you get to the 'Memberships & Add-Ons' page, create a new comp membership type
- Add membership type
- Select either 'comp - unnamed' or 'comp - named' as your membership type instead of 'standard'
- Add your membership type name
- Create membership type
3. Add your membership to the release
- Go to the release tab and select add/edit zones or sections
- Add your membership type to your zones/sections and select submit
4. Publish your membership
** Note: You can't issue comp memberships until the membership is published. As long as the membership is hidden from the public then it will not show on the customer portal.
** Note: If you are logged in as an admin, you will always be able to see this on the customer side. To double check it's not showing for the customer, you need to open the memberships page in an incognito tab
How to Issue a Complimentary Membership
1. Go to the orders tab and select 'create order'
2. Change the first tab from event to membership, select the comp membership you want to issue, then select proceed
3. Select how many memberships you want to issue
4. Either select the seats on the map, or select them using the zone and sections on the left hand side
5. Select the membership type on the left hand side & select 'buy membership'
6. Fill in the member's details
7. Select 'complimentary' as the payment method, add a reason for complimentary ticket (optional), select whether or not you want the order confirmation sent to the member and select 'issue complimentary tickets'
