Credits

What are credits useful for, how to add them to customers and how the customer will use them to redeem tickets.

What are credits useful for?

Credits are essentially a digital currency customers can use to purchase tickets. When credits are applied to a customer's account, the next time they go to purchase tickets, the credit will automatically be applied to their order. If the total cost of their order exceeds the amount of credits they have, they will be asked to pay the difference.

One benefit of using credits is that you are not giving any money directly back to the customer. The customer can also only spend those credits in your organisation for future events.

Credits do not expire. If you only want credits to be valid for a certain period of time, you will need to wipe the credits from everyone's accounts once this time period is over.

There are a wide range of scenarios where credits may be useful including:

  • If a customer requests a refund, you can provide a credit to their account instead
  • If an event is rained out/postponed, you can provide a credit so they can purchase tickets to future events
  • Reward loyal customers with credit
  • Run a competition with credits as part of the prize

There are two different ways to give customers credit.

1) Individually add credit to a customers profile

- Go into a customers profile, go to the credits tab, type in the amount of credit you wish to give the customer and select 'Update Credits'
