Adding Express Checkout

Express Checkout makes buying tickets faster, easier, and more secure for customers. By leveraging trusted services like Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Link, customers can skip lengthy checkout flows and complete their purchase in just a few clicks, increasing conversion rates by up to 10%.

Requirements for using Express Checkout

Your Customer Success Manager can enable Express Checkout for your organisation if all of the following apply:

  • Events use Stripe Connect as the payment gateway.
  • Printed ticket delivery and dietary requirement collection are not required.

Stripe Connect Set up

By default, Stripe Connect accounts have Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link payment methods enabled, so no additional setup is usually required in Stripe.  To learn more about Stripe payment methods, visit:
https://support.stripe.com/questions/activate-a-new-payment-method

Stripe automatically determines which payment methods to display to a customer and in which order they appear at checkout.

How does Express Checkout work for Customers?

  1. Ticket Selection - Customers select their ticket options directly from the event page.
  2. Supported Payment Methods - Express Checkout supports Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link payments. These options will automatically appear at the bottom of the event page if:
  • The payment method has been correctly set up by the customer
(e.g., Google Pay will not display unless the customer has set it up on their device).
  • The customer is using a compatible browser (E.g., Google Pay won't usually show in Safari browser because Apple restricts third-party payment APIs in their browser).
  • The payment currency is supported.

3.  Checkout Modal - When a customer clicks  ‘Google Pay, Apple Pay or Link’, button a checkout modal appears. Customers have 3 minutes to complete their transaction. A countdown timer appears when 2 minutes remain, and it turns red in the final minute to indicate urgency.
To view the ticket order summary, they can expand the modal by clicking ‘Total ▾’.
The customer can complete payment using:
    • Face ID
    • Touch ID
    • Or a simple click, depending on the device and payment method selected.

If Ticket Protection Insurance is enabled or ticket delivery options are configured, these will appear for customers to select during checkout.
To disable Ticket Delivery Options in the checkout flow as shown above, please contact your Customer Success Manager, who can make this change for you.
