Purchase Codes
What are purchase codes used for and how to set these up
What are purchase codes used for?
If you want to limit the number of tickets an individual can purchase or redeem, we can use purchase codes to do so.
This gives you more control over how many tickets each person can purchase.
Some example scenarios where purchase codes may be useful:
- You have a group of people who can access a certain number of tickets (eg: 2 tickets each)
- You have sponsors who are allocated x amount of tickets for an event and you want them to redeem their own tickets rather than sending tickets to them
How to Set Up Purchase Codes
**Note: You must have release codes turned on in the event setup for this to be possible
1. Download the purchase code template
2. Fill out the template
- Create a code for each person. We recommend using their email address, or you can create a unique code if you do not have their email.
**Note: codes are case and space sensitive - keep it simple, all lower or upper case and no spaces
- Enter the ticket allocation for each person: Enter the amount of paid or comp tickets they are allocated. Enter 0 if they are not allocated a certain ticket.
- Save as CSV ** Important as you won't be able to upload an excel file
2. Open the flicket admin panel and navigate to private links tab inside the relevant event
3. Create a private link that contains the tickets you want customers to redeem through their purchase code
** Note you must create and save a private link before you can add purchase codes
4. Select 'Details' beside your private link to edit your link
5. If you are using purchase codes for complimentary tickets, you must turn on 'Allow public to purchase complimentary tickets
6. Turn 'View purchase codes' on
7. Select 'Add/view purchase codes'
8. Select 'Upload' then upload your csv file
9. Once uploaded, select 'submit'
10. Once you have uploaded your purchase code file, select 'submit' to save the link
